Visitor's Guide
Please observe the following rules when visiting Koyasan Reihokan Museum.
About the exhibition room
- Please do not touch the exhibits or display cases.
- Please refrain from bringing large luggage. (Please use the lockers, etc.)
- All sketching is prohibited.
About shooting
Photography is prohibited anywhere in the exhibition rooms (including with mobile phones). Please note that if you take photographs, your film will be confiscated, digital cameras will delete the images, and video camera photography will be treated the same.
About the phone
Please refrain from making calls or sending e-mails on mobile phones in the exhibition rooms. (Please turn off your mobile phone or set it to silent mode while inside the building.)
Eating, drinking and smoking
- Smoking is prohibited throughout the building.
- Eating and drinking are prohibited inside the building.
- There are no dining facilities.
Other Information
- Please refrain from any behavior that may cause inconvenience to other customers.
- Bringing dangerous items into the venue is prohibited.
- Please refrain from bringing pets into the building. (Guide dogs, service dogs, hearing assistance dogs, etc. are permitted.)
- Please refrain from bringing umbrellas into the building (please leave them in the umbrella holder), however, folding umbrellas placed in a plastic bag may be brought in.
- Collecting plants is prohibited on the grounds of the Reihokan Museum.
- There is no heating facility in the main building of the Reihokan Museum.
- Our building is a Taisho and Showa era building, and there are stairs and other uneven surfaces throughout the building. If you require assistance or support, such as if you are in a wheelchair, please feel free to ask at the reception desk, as staff will be happy to assist you.
- Please follow other instructions from staff.
Please observe the above rules to ensure that visitors can enjoy the museum in the best possible environment and to help maintain the best possible condition of the exhibits.

Directions and Access
Using trains and buses
- From Nankai Electric Railway's Namba Station to Gokurakubashi Station, it takes about 1 hour 25 minutes by limited express train, or about 1 hour 40 minutes by rapid train.
- Take the JR West Wakayama Line from Wakayama Station to Hashimoto Station, then transfer to the Nankai Koya Line to Gokurakubashi Station. From Gokurakubashi Station, take the cable car to Koyasan.
- From "Koyasan Station", take the Nankai Rinkan bus bound for Okunoin, get off at the "Senjuinbashi" bus stop, then walk for 10 minutes. Or take the bus bound for Daimon and get off at the "Reihokan-mae" bus stop.
By car
- From Osaka:It takes about 2 hours to get to Hashimoto via national highways 26, 310, and 371.
- From Nagoya:It takes about 5 hours to get to Hashimoto via the Tomei-Osaka, Meihan National Highways, and National Route 24.
From Hashimoto, take the Koyasan Road.
When you arrive at Koyasan, you will see the Daimon Gate. Continue walking for a while and you will see the Daimon Gate on your right.Reihokan Museum parking lot (free)
