Period: April 28, 2012 (Saturday) - July 8 (Sunday)
Period: April 28, 2012 (Saturday) - July 8 (Sunday)
In its long history of about 1200 years since its founding, Mount Koya has attracted the faith of countless people, both nobles and commoners, and various treasures have been donated to the temple as proof of this. Currently, many of the treasures are stored in the Koyasan Reihokan Museum, but in the past, the Garan Miedo Hall Treasure House played that role. Among the Miedo Hall donated items that have survived repeated crises, including fires, the items donated by the 3rd lord of the Echizen Maruoka Domain (present-day Maruoka-cho, Sakai City, Fukui Prefecture) Honda Hida no Kami Shigeaki (1634-1676), stand out for their number and diversity.
This time, we will exhibit this little-known collection all in one place, and introduce a variety of votive offerings, ranging from masterpieces to rare items.
