"The Tokugawa Family and Mount Koya"
Period: September 28, 2013 (Saturday) - December 15 (Sunday) *Some exhibits may be changed.
In conjunction with the special opening of the interior of the Tokugawa family mausoleum, a special exhibition will be held that focuses on the relationship between the Tokugawa family and Mount Koya. Valuable cultural assets will be on display, including the National Treasure, the Gold and Silver Letters Sutra, the statue of Tokugawa Ieyasu that was enshrined in the Toshogu Shrine at Kosan-ji Temple (which merged with Seigan-ji Temple to become Kanengobu-ji Temple), the predecessor of the current Kongobu-ji Temple, and the Bunroku Sannen Renga Kaishi, which contains a record of the poems Ieyasu composed at Mount Koya.
