2013 Spring Exhibition "Eternal Beauty - Metalworks of Mount Koya"

Various ritual implements and Buddhist implements are essential for the practice of esoteric Buddhism. Many of these are metalwork items, and throughout history they have been carefully protected as temple treasures and as proof of the succession of masters. The metalwork items of Mount Koya that have been passed down in this way boast the highest quantity and quality in Japan. Mount Koya is also a treasure trove of kei, a type of Buddhist implement that produces sound, with masterpieces from each era. In addition to these, the hanging Buddhas of the Danjo Garan Gosha (on public display for the first time), swords, and more, will be on display, along with a variety of metalwork items that will captivate viewers with their timeless beauty.
