The 35th Koyasan Great Treasure Exhibition "Treasures of the Mountain - Masterpieces from the Temples of Koyasan"
July 19 (Saturday) - October 5 (Sunday) Open throughout the event

First period: July 19, 2014 (Saturday) - August 24 (Sunday)
Second period: August 26, 2014 (Tuesday) - October 5 (Sunday)

Mount Koya once had over 1000 temples, but after many twists and turns, there are now only 117 temples within the Kongobu-ji temple grounds (these areTower(Tatchu）Temple, orchild's hospital(Shiin）These are called "temples" and still continue to convey the teachings of Kobo Daishi to the present day. This exhibition will display a number of masterpieces that symbolize the history and culture of Mount Koya, focusing on the possessions of the sub-temples. Mount Koya will celebrate its 1200th anniversary next year. Come experience some of its charm through its cultural assets.

Numerous exhibits including 5 national treasures, 21 important cultural properties, and 5 Wakayama prefecture designated properties
