2014 and 2015 are the 400th anniversary of the Siege of Osaka, and 2015 is the 400th anniversary of the death of Tokugawa Ieyasu. Coupled with the recent boom in Japanese swords and castles, interest in warlords of the Sengoku period is growing year by year. This year, the Sanada family, especially Sanada Yukimura (Nobushige), has been attracting attention, along with the popularity of the NHK historical drama "Sanadamaru." Despite fighting bravely in the Battle of Sekigahara, Sanada Masayuki and Yukimura were exiled to Mount Koya after the defeat of the Western Army, and later lived a long life of confinement in Kudoyama at the foot of the mountain. This exhibition will display cultural assets related to warlords of the same period that have been handed down at Mount Koya, with a focus on items related to the Sanada family.
