The Muromachi period (1338-1573) was a tumultuous time that began with the upheaval of the Northern and Southern Courts, passed through a period of stability, and then culminated in the Warring States era when many warlords fought for supremacy. This exhibition explores the history of Mount Koya during such a tumultuous time by introducing Mount Koya in the Muromachi period and displaying a number of famous treasures from the period housed at the Koyasan Reihokan Museum.

Special Exhibition
The Buddha's Nirvana painting (a copy of the National Treasure "Buddha's Nirvana painting (owned by Kongobu-ji Temple)" by Aichi Prefectural University of the Arts) will be on public display for the first time.
At the same time, Buddhist paintings related to Buddha stored in the Reihokan Museum will be on display.
