There are many legends about Kobo Daishi Kukai, who founded Mount Koya, that remain throughout the country, and it is rare to find a person with so many legends about him, even in Japan. Mount Koya has also been worshipped as a sacred place for over 1200 years, and there are also many legends about it. Therefore, this exhibition will focus on the legends related to Kukai, the mysterious stories that have been passed down at Mount Koya, and the cultural assets associated with them.
