Exhibition commemorating the 1250th anniversary of the birth of Kobo Daishi, founder of the Buddhist sect
"From the Master to the Master"
Period: April 15, 2023 (Saturday) - October 9 (Monday, public holiday)

1st period: April 15, 2023 (Saturday) - May 28 (Sunday)
2nd Period: May 30, 2023 (Tuesday) - July 9 (Sunday)
3rd Period: July 15, 2023 (Saturday) - August 27 (Sunday)
4th Period: August 29, 2023 (Tuesday) - October 9 (Monday, public holiday)

This year marks the 5th anniversary of the birth of Kobo Daishi Kukai (O-Daishi-sama) in the 774th year of the Houki era (1250). To commemorate this, we will be exhibiting cultural properties related to Kobo Daishi, and introducing his footsteps from his birth to the present day, using famous treasures that remain to this day. We will also be exhibiting cultural properties that were dedicated to Kobo Daishi after he entered nirvana. Please come and experience the faith in Daishi that has been passed down through the generations.
