The 5th Sacred Treasures Exhibition "Treasures of Kobo Daishi" Pure Land on Earth and Eternal Prayers - Exhibit List

About me
I am keenly aware of the significance of the fact that the Fifth Mount Koya Sacred Treasures Exhibition is being held this year, which coincides with the 1,150th anniversary of the death of Kobo Daishi. I believe it is truly meaningful that people from all over the country who make pilgrimages to this mountain to honor the virtues of Kobo Daishi will be able to view the items connected to him and the many treasures preserved at the head temple, and remember the great shogun Kobo Daishi.
This year, with the construction of the new storage and exhibition hall underway, we are able to display the many Imperial objects donated by the Imperial Family, including the Flying Trident, which is kept securely as a religious treasure deep within the Goei-do Hall of the temple complex, and we are all delighted to share this occasion.
In addition, artist Yoshinaga Kuniharu has taken photographs of Buddhist ruins in India, the Western Regions and China, and sketched them himself, shedding light on the path of Buddhism's eastward spread. This follows on from the spirit of Kobo Daishi's search for the law, who studied esoteric Buddhism in China in the early Heian period, and I believe this too has deep significance. I hope that everyone who comes to visit will find it insightful.
